Mommy Vows

Breast cancer is proven to be hereditary: if a mother gets it, her daughter is 80% likely to as well.

This illustration book imagines what vows a young girl, as a mommy-to-be who can foresee her breast cancer diagnosis, would make to her future daughter. Each vow reflects on her very own authentic experience as someone whose mother had been undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and unfortunately remained absent from most parts of her teenage years.

Just because she might end up like her mother does not mean her future daughter would have to grow up unaccompanied like she did.

P/S: That girl is me. Every page of this book is based on my own true story.
